How a build works

Everything, in plain English.

These are the same terms we send with every quote — written to be read, not to hide behind. No surprises, no fine print you need a lawyer for.

The clock. Your 72-hour timeline (5 days on Growth; the larger tiers run to the schedule quoted with your project) starts the moment two things have both arrived: your $49 draft fee and your intake answers. Not before — so you're never racing a clock that started without you.

1 What's included

The scope is exactly what your plan says — Launch or Growth, as quoted. Anything beyond it (extra pages, an online store, custom applications, logo design) is quoted separately and approved by you before any work begins. No surprise invoices, ever.

2 The timeline & milestones

Draft fee + intake in → the clock starts.
72 hours (Launch) or 5 business days (Growth) → your private preview link.
Your revision round → we turn it around.
You approve + pay the balance → we launch on your domain.

If your content isn't in after 7 days, we build with our own copy and tasteful placeholders and the clock runs — you can swap in real content during your revision round. We never let a project stall silently.

3 Revision rounds

A revision round = one consolidated list of changes, sent as a single email. We turn it around, and that closes the round.

Launch includes one round. Growth includes two. More are always available, quoted simply — but most sites land in one.

4 You own everything

On final payment, it's all yours — domain, files, copy, and design. The domain is registered with you as the legal owner (the registrant of record); we manage the account side so you never have to. Want to move it elsewhere? We'll transfer it to any registrar account you name, free, within 3 business days of you asking — no conditions, no hostage-taking.

5 The draft fee & refunds

The $49 draft fee is what starts your build, and it's credited in full toward your plan price — so on a $500 Launch site, the balance at approval is $451 (Growth: $751, Growth + Editing: $1,551, Community: $2,350). On Institutional work the fee is credited against the quoted project price.

If the first draft genuinely misses, you get a revision pass to set it right. If you'd still rather walk away, tell us honestly that it isn't for you and we'll refund half the draft fee — $24.50. We keep the other half because the draft is real work already delivered: your complete first site, written and designed. So the most you can ever be out is $24.50, and you keep nothing you didn't want.

The balance is only ever due after you've seen your draft and want to go live.

6 If you need to pause

Life happens. Tell us and we'll pause the build and hold your slot — the clock pauses with it and resumes when you're ready. A project paused longer than 30 days we'll simply re-confirm scope and pricing before restarting, in case anything's changed.

7 The Care plan (optional)

Care is $49/month and entirely optional. A "small edit" is a text, image, or hours swap taking ≤30 minutes; up to 4 per month (they don't roll over), with a 2-business-day turnaround. Structural changes and new sections are quoted separately.

Cancel anytime: you get a zip of your complete site files within 7 days, and the site stays live for 30 days while you move. We never hold a site hostage. Without Care, your domain renews at $15/year billed to you; Care includes renewal.

8 The small print, kept small

Our liability is capped at the fees you've paid us. You confirm you own — or have the rights to — any content, logos, or photos you send us to use. That's it.
